DevArt set out to reframe coding as a creative discipline. It explores art made with code, by developers using technology as their canvas and code as their raw material. The project is made up of three key components: a physical gallery at the Barbican (then touring around the world), a global online initiative for developers to showcase their creativity for a chance to be awarded a commission, and the DevArt Young Creators program - an education component designed to inspire the next generation of developers.
Three main milestones for DevArt:
PHASE 1: Launch of DevArt site. Submissions window (February 5th - March 28th)
PHASE 2: Winner announced (April 17th)
PHASE 3: Digital Revolution Exhibition opens (July 3rd) - focus on UK consumers
